Q: Mera naam Shruti hai. I read everywhere that meditation is a cure for depression, so I started. But sitting alone with my thoughts for 10 minutes feels like hours. The silence just amplifies the negative voice in my head telling me I'm worthless. Instead of feeling better, I feel more isolated and aware of my sadness. Am I doing it wrong, or is deep depression wale logon ke liye meditation sahi nahi hai? I was born on 23/5/1998 at 7 AM.?

Q: The calmness of the meditation itself is interrupted only when the silence is subdued, and then the cravings do not come back, they scream. It feels like the silence of peace has stripped me of my usual distractions, leaving the exposed, naked, and uncovered nature of the raw and emotional comfort food I need. That new silence seems too much to bear, the need to fill that vacuum with the comfort of a snack becomes so strong it becomes a psychological itch, which must be scratched now. This is a sad paradox. The very practice which is meant to enable me to exercise control over my life only makes me feel increasingly conscious of my inability to do so. The increased sensitivity is a liability and the process of achieving weight loss becomes even more psychologically dangerous immediately after I have attempted to focus.
