How do I become more emotionally stable and less reactive to little things?

I've been observing that I get emotionally upset by the smallest things like a delayed text, a change in plan, even someone's tone. It takes a lot out of me to feel like I'm always reacting. I would like to be more grounded and emotionally stable, but I am not sure where to start. What can I do to be more emotionally stable and less reactive to minor issues? I'm looking for practices or shifts in perception that will assist me in staying calm and grounded.
