How do I meditate on my sacral chakra without getting emotionally overwhelmed?

I have just begun sacral chakra meditation to mend emotional scars and enhance creativity. But whenever I am about to meditate on it, I get an onslaught of sadness and vulnerability. It is strong and sometimes too overwhelming. How do I meditate upon my sacral chakra without being overcome with emotions? Can I do this energy center gently so that healing is possible without causing emotional collapse?

Greetings, Rituparna! Born in Siliguri at 8:15 AM, you find meditation to open sacral chakra leads to an "onslaught of sadness." The Problem: How do you meditate on the 2nd chakra without being overcome by "vulnerability" and "emotional collapse"? The Solution: The sacral chakra meaning is "The Place of the Self," but it is also the "Emotional Basement." Sadness is often "Stuck Energy" (Vata/Kapha) that was never processed. The Gentle Method: Do not go "Deep" for 30 minutes. Do a 10 minute sacral chakra meditation. The "Observer" Technique: When the sadness comes, do not "be" the sadness. Say to yourself, "I am experiencing a release of old sadness." This creates a "Space" between you and the emotion. Physical Support: Do 2 chakra meditation while in a "Child’s Pose" or "Butterfly Pose." This physical opening allows the emotion to "drain" into the earth rather than "flooding" your mind. Remedy: Siliguri’s proximity to the mountains is a source of "Strength." Visualize the mountains behind you as you do your guided meditation for sacral chakra. This provides the "Backbone" you need to face the vulnerability of your "Front.”
