I fall asleep every single time I try to meditate. Is this even working?

I am Junaid from Aligarh and lately I'm so tired from depression and anxiety that the moment I sit down to meditate in a quiet room, I fall asleep within minutes. I wake up feeling groggy and frustrated, like I've failed again. Is there any benefit to this constant napping? Should I just accept that my body needs sleep more than meditation right now, or is there a way to stay alert and engage in the practice? (birthday: 10/10/2003, 9 AM)
