If I stop Googling health symptoms, will it really make me feel better?
Name: Priyanshi Date of Birth: 28 January 1998 Place of Birth: Lucknow Time: 04:20 PM. Hello, I spend hours on end each day Googling for symptoms. A headache is a brain tumor, a rash is a rare disease. I know it's stupid, but I just can't help myself. I've tried blocking websites and deleting apps, but I always seem to find a way. I would like to know if stopping Google searches would truly decrease my health anxiety. There is a psychological reason why I continue doing it, so what can I replace the habit with and what is it?

6 months agoNamaste, Priyanshi. Searching for symptoms is not "seeking information"; it is a "compulsion" to lower anxiety that actually makes it worse. The Problem: Born on 28 January 1998, your Mercury might be overactive. Google is a "confirmation bias" machine. If you search "headache," it will eventually show you "tumor" because that gets the most clicks. You are seeking "certainty" in an uncertain world. The Solution & Remedies: ● Replacement Habit: Every time you want to Google a symptom, you must drink a full glass of water and write 3 things you are grateful for. ● The "Postpone" Method: Tell yourself, "I can Google this, but only at 7:00 PM for 5 minutes." Usually, by 7:00 PM, the urge has passed. ● Astrological Remedy: Keep a silver bowl of water near your bed at night and pour it into a plant in the morning. This "washes away" the restless Mercury energy that drives the late-night searching.
