If chakra stones are damaged by water, why are they not damaged by my sweat which contains water?

Name: Tanmay Date of birth: 1 July 1990 Place of birth: Indore Time: 6:45 AM I read that some chakra stones shouldn’t be cleansed with water because they dissolve or get damaged. That made sense until I realized I wear my chakra bracelet every day even while walking, working out, and sweating. Sweat contains water and salts, so shouldn’t it affect the stones too? If chakra stones are affected by water, why are they not affected by sweat? Am I unknowingly damaging them just by wearing them?

Namaste, Tanmay. This is an excellent practical question that touches on Mineralogy. The Difference: When we say a stone is "not water-safe," we are usually referring to prolonged Immersion. Stones like Selenite or Halite are soft and porous; they can actually dissolve if left in a bowl of water for hours. The Sweat Factor: Sweat is indeed acidic and contains salts, which can be more corrosive than plain water. However, the amount of moisture in sweat is usually not enough to dissolve a stone instantly. What happens instead is Long-term Degradation. If you wear a "soft" stone while working out daily, it won't disappear overnight, but it will lose its luster, become brittle, or develop microscopic cracks over months. The Danger: You are likely not "damaging" hard stones like Amethyst or Jasper with sweat, but you are clogging their "pores" with oils and salts. This creates an "energetic film" that reduces their vibration. The Remedy: Simply wipe your jewelry with a soft, damp (not soaking) cloth after a workout to remove the salts.
