Is it okay that I bypassed my root chakra meditation to heart chakra? Did I disrupt my energy flow?

Hello, I’m Kishan from Ranchi, born on 3 January 1989, 1:00 AM. Been ages since I began heart chakra meditation. I get that feeling of peace and lucidity. But I haven't meditated on root chakra at all. Some would say you have to begin from the bottom and go upwards, but I'm more inclined towards the heart space. Is it alright to ignore my intuition and pass over the root chakra for now? Or am I leaving out something critical by not grounding first?

Hello Kishan ji, You did not disrupt your energy flow, so there is no need to worry. It is completely okay that you were naturally drawn to the heart chakra first. Many people are guided to the heart because it is the emotional center, and when someone is healing grief, relationships, or emotional pain, the heart responds more quickly than the lower chakras. The idea that chakras must always be opened strictly from root to crown is a teaching model, not a rigid rule. Energy does not move in a straight ladder; it moves where awareness goes. That said, the root chakra plays a different role than the heart. The heart opens you emotionally, while the root helps you feel safe, stable, and grounded in daily life. When heart work happens without grounding, some people may feel: ● emotionally open but physically tired ● peaceful during meditation but unsettled afterward ● sensitive or unanchored in practical matters This does not mean you did something wrong. It only means balance may be needed. You do not need to stop heart chakra meditation. Instead, gently add grounding alongside it. Very simple grounding is enough: ● a few minutes of slow breathing with attention on your feet ● sitting on the floor or touching the earth ● noticing your body weight and surroundings after meditation Think of it this way: The heart opens the door, and the root makes sure you feel safe standing there. Following your intuition toward the heart was right. Just allow grounding to support it, not control it.
