Should I stop meditating if I experience brief moments of hallucination or visual distortions?

During deep meditation, I sometimes see brief flashes of light or geometric shapes, or the walls in the room seem to breathe. These visual distortions are unnerving. Is this a normal sign of deep focus, or is this a negative side effect that indicates the practice is dangerous for my mental health and should be stopped immediately? I feel a sense of fear and apprehension when this happens. I am Kavita, born on 14th May 1993 at 9:00 PM in Delhi.
