What else can I do instead of breathing when panic strikes out of the blue?
Name: Tanya Date of Birth: 29 November 1997 Place of Birth: Chandigarh Time: 07:20 AM. Hello, I've been advised to employ breathing exercises during anxiety attacks but they don't work for me all the time. At times, I feel like I'm choking and concentrating on breathing exacerbates it. I require different methodssomething physical or something mental that can orient me immediately. I've attempted to hold ice cubes and count backward, but I'm not certain what actually assists. I wish to develop a toolkit of strategies that are more than breathing, particularly for situations when I feel as though I'm losing control and require relief now.

6 months agoNamaste, Tanya. Born in Chandigarh in late November, your Sagittarian fire is strong, but when "Air" (Vata/Anxiety) overwhelms your fire, you feel like you're choking. For some, focusing on the breath during an attack feels like trying to catch smoke; it heightens the awareness of the "Mercury-choke" in the throat. Your chart likely has a high sensitivity to Mars, which requires physical "outlet" energy rather than internal "stagnant" focus. Remedy & Solution: ● The Mammalian Dive Reflex: Submerge your face in ice-cold water for 15 seconds. This is a biological "hack" that forces the heart rate to slow down—a quick fix that bypasses the mind. ● The "Wall Push": Stand against a wall and push as hard as you can for 30 seconds. This uses the "Mars" energy in your muscles to ground the "Rahu" energy in your head. ● Mantra: Chant "Om Ham Hanumate Namah"—the Beej mantra for the throat and breath, which provides spiritual "openness" when you feel you are choking. ● Next Step: Keep a Black Tourmaline stone in your pocket; its "Saturnian" density helps pull excess mental electricity into the ground
