Why am I always scared of diseases even as a medical student who is aware of the facts?

Name: Aditya Date of Birth: 10 September 1998 Place of Birth: Mumbai Time: 03:30 PM. Hello, I am a final-year medical student and I am always in fear of falling prey to dangerous diseases. Ironically enough, despite all my training, safety equipment, and vaccinations, I still freak out over things such as HIV, hepatitis, or unusual neurological diseases. I know the statistics and am familiar with the science, but the fear gets the better of reason. It is affecting my clinical competence and making me question whether I am cut out for this profession. I wish to know why the fear arises when I am studying it and how I can overcome this without feeling like a failure as a student and a future doctor.

Namaste, Aditya. You are suffering from what we call "Medical Student Syndrome," but intensified by your astrological makeup. The Problem: Born on 10 September 1998, your Gemini influences (ruled by Mercury) make you intellectually brilliant but prone to "nervous overload." As a medical student, you are constantly feeding your "Anxiety Monster" with new, terrifying data. Your logic knows the stats, but your Limbic System (the emotional brain) doesn't care about statistics; it only cares about survival. This doesn't mean you aren't cut out for medicine—it means you are empathetic and highly imaginative. The Solution & Remedies:Compartmentalization: Treat your studies as a "fictional textbook" when reading about rare diseases. Remind yourself: "I am learning this to save others, not to diagnose myself." ● Clinical Grounding: When you feel a twitch, look at it from a doctor's perspective: "If a patient came to me with this, would I order a STAT MRI? No." ● Astrological Remedy: Gemini energy is airy. To ground it, keep a small copper coin in your pocket. Worship Lord Ganesha (the remover of obstacles and lord of intellect) before your clinical rotations to stabilize your nerves.
