Why breath watch entrap panic escape kitchen root?
As soon as I am told that I should simply watch my breath, the feeling of being entrapped envelops me. Concentrating on the breath in and out is like being locked up, which escalates into a low-grade panic-attack. The direct route of this anxiety is to my kitchen, the necessity to eat something, anything, is the primal desire to escape this sense of being trapped and to root myself. It's a vicious cycle. A device that is supposed to develop awareness and regulation turns out to be an incitement to the same attitude I am struggling with. I am not meditating to be at peace; I am white-knuckling my way through this, just to be relieved by food as soon as I open my eyes.
