Why do frightening ancient flashes appear in Cleaning increasing anxiety?

During the 'Cleaning' practice, when I focus on removing accumulated impressions, I sometimes get fleeting, frightening flashes of unfamiliar scenes that feel ancient. I worry these "impressions" are actually samskaras from a past life. My name is Ritu, DOB 1st May 1990. Time: 10:25 PM. Location: Jaipur. Is this normal processing, or is the surfacing of these old memories increasing my anxiety?
