Why does Heartfulness prayer phrase make me feel guilty about desires and depressed?

Hi my name is Pooja and I struggle immensely with the Heartfulness prayer, especially the phrase acknowledging that "We are yet but slaves of wishes." I feel immediate guilt and self-judgment about my desires. This feeling reinforces my underlying depression, making me feel flawed for having any ambition. Is this emphasis meant to strip away desire, and is my guilt a reflection of a core life theme of self-denial? I was born on 7th May 2006. Time: 6:00 PM. Location: Delhi.
