Why does meditation or exercise set off panic and pressure in my head?
Name: Neha Date of Birth: 14 February 1995 Place of Birth: Surat Time: 07:30 PM. When I attempt to meditate or exercise in order to control my health anxiety, I get pressure in my head and start panicking. It's annoying because these are what are supposed to do good, yet they make me worse. I've also stopped performing yoga and even mild cardio because I don't want anything bad to happen. I want to know why this occurs and how I can regain normalcy without provoking anxiety.

6 months agoNamaste, Neha. It is deeply frustrating when the very "medicine" you seek feels like poison. The Problem: Your birth details (14 Feb 1995) suggest a high sensitivity to internal shifts. When you meditate, you remove external distractions, which forces your brain to focus on internal sensations (heartbeat, breath). For someone with health anxiety, this is terrifying. The "head pressure" is often a tension headache caused by "trying too hard" to be calm. In exercise, your heart rate rises naturally—but your brain misinterprets this "healthy" arousal as a "panic attack" or a medical emergency. You are experiencing Interoceptive Conditioning. The Solution & Remedies: ● Externalize Meditation: Stop silent meditation. Use "Five Senses" mindfulness or walking meditation where you focus on the sounds of birds or the feel of the wind. This keeps your focus outside your body. ● Low-Arousal Movement: Switch from cardio to Yin Yoga or slow stretching. Prove to your brain that a slightly elevated heart rate is safe. ● Astrological Remedy: Since Ketu in the 12th house (or its influence) creates "phantom sensations," donate black and white blankets to the needy on Saturdays. Wear a thread of sandalwood around your neck to cool the "head pressure" energy.
