Why don’t my Indian parents understand my depression or respect my personal space?
Name: Kabir Date of Birth: 2 November 1999 Place of Birth: Patna Time: 7:35 AM I've had depression for more than a year, but my parents just do not understand. They say I'm lazy or faking it, and when I request a little space, they think that's disrespect. I've explained to them that I need time alone to sort myself out, but they just keep telling me to snap out of it or be strong. It's exhausting fighting emotional boundaries in my own residence. Is this a generational thing, or is there a way to help them understand what I’m going through?

4 months agoNamaste, Kabir. This is a struggle of the 4th House (Home) and 9th House (Elders). In many Indian households, "mental health" is seen as a luxury or a weakness because of the Saturnian upbringing our parents had—focused on survival and resilience. The Astrological Reason: Your parents likely have a "fixed" sign influence, making them resistant to new concepts like "personal space." To them, space looks like isolation/danger. The Solution & Remedies: ● Language Shift: Don't use words like "depression" or "space." Use words they understand: "low energy," "fatigue," or "meditation time." ● Jupiter Remedy: Strengthening your Jupiter will help you communicate with authority and grace, making them respect your boundaries more. ● White Thread: Wear a white thread around your wrist to protect your energy from the "noise" of the household.
