Why is meditation helping my depression or making me numb?
After a few weeks of consistent meditation, the sharp edges of my anxiety have dulled significantly. But so has everything else; I don't feel the deep sadness as much, but I also don't feel joy or excitement. I feel flatlined and detached from life. It's like meditation has turned down the volume on all my emotions, good and bad. Is this the goal? Is this true peace, or is it just a different kind of suffering that is negatively impacting my overall mental health? (Aastha, born on 16th June 2001, 10 PM, in Jaipur)
