Why need cleanse bowl moonlight sage stagnant energy?

People talk about leaving their bowls in the moonlight or smudging them with sage. My name is Sofia, born July 19, 1998. I've never done this, and I wonder if the bowl's energy is getting "dirty" or stagnant from my use. Time: 9:35 PM. Location: Manali. Am I supposed to be maintaining it spiritually, or is it just a tool that doesn't need that? I don't want my own negative energy to be trapped in it and recycled back to me.
