Can mindfulness meditation help me deal with emotional triggers?
My name is Priya Sharma, and I was born in Jaipur on 15th August 1999 at 6:15 PM. Small emotional triggers often lead to my strong reaction; most of the time, I regret them afterward. From the sources I have read, mindfulness, as implemented in Headspace, may result in increased perception and a larger holding of one's emotional outbursts. I would be interested to know if consistent practice could really enable me to maintain my composure rather than lose it with sudden emotions.

The Mindfulness Solution: A "Trigger" is a fast-track to your past traumas. Consistent Headspace practice increases your "Interoception" (awareness of internal body states). β The Shift: You will start to notice the physical trigger (clenched jaw, fast pulse) before the emotional outburst. β Composure: By sitting in meditation and "allowing" difficult thoughts to exist without reacting to them, you train your brain for real-life situations. You learn to "watch the wave" of emotion without getting swept away by it.
