Does mindful breathing really reduce tension in my body?
My name is Kavya Rani, and I was born in Chennai on 14th April 2000 at 7:25 AM. I usually get quite a bit of tension in my shoulders and neck, particularly when I have worked for a long time. It is said that Headspace mindfulness, along with mindful breathing, is a good way for the body to let off physical tension. I am willing to know the reason for the body, mind relaxation through one simple activity, which is breathing.

The Mind-Body Link: Why does breathing help the neck? It’s about the "Vagus Nerve." ● The Logic: When you do mindful breathing through Headspace, you signal your brain that you are safe. The brain then stops sending "tighten" signals to your muscles. ● Practice: Use the "Body Scan" meditation. It teaches you to "send your breath" to the areas of tension. This simple activity of "Awareness" is often more effective than a massage because it fixes the source of the tension (the stress response).
