How can meditation really help me manage my body pain without medicines?
Sitting at my desk all day has caused me back and shoulder pain, which I have been experiencing for a long time. I've just gotten tired of painkillers and don't want to take them anymore, so I have been trying meditation as a pain relief method. Some people say that meditation is a kind of neuro, neuroreprogramming for the brain so that it would respond differently to pain. Is this true? Can meditation really have such great strength that it would make my drug dosage decrease in the long term? My name is Riya Sharma, and I was born in Mumbai on 20th March 2000 at 10:45 AM.

Your Aries nature pushes you to work hard, but the sedentary nature of a desk job creates a "Vata" imbalance in your spine and shoulders. The Science of Healing: It is absolutely true that meditation is a form of Neuro-reprogramming. Chronic pain often becomes a "learned response" by the brain; even after the initial tissue damage has healed, the brain continues to fire pain signals. Meditation strengthens the Prefrontal Cortex (the logic center) and shrinks the Amygdala (the fear center). The Process: By practicing Body Relaxation Meditation, you teach your brain to observe the sensation of pain without the emotional "threat" response. When the fear of pain decreases, the physical tension in your muscles also drops. The Goal: Yes, with consistent practice, meditation can significantly reduce your drug dosage because you are naturally increasing your Endorphin levels (the body’s natural painkillers). It is a long-term strategy for holistic pain relief.
