How do I focus on breathing when the pain keeps distracting me?

When I attempt meditation every time, the pain in my neck always drags my focus away. This is because I am not able to concentrate on my breath for a minute or so. It is told by everyone that through concentration one can attain meditation; however, because of the pain, I cannot even go beyond a minute. How do I remain aware that I am hurting? My name is Aditi Chauhan, and I was born in Lucknow on 22nd April 1999 at 9:30 AM.

Namaste Aditi Ji, Born on 10th May 1999 in Jaipur at 3:20 PM, you have a Taurus Sun and Pisces Moon. Neck pain is often linked to the "Vishuddha" (Throat) chakra and tension from "carrying the weight of the world." Training the Attention: It is normal for pain to drag your focus away; that is what pain is designed to do! The Shift: In Body Awareness Mindfulness, instead of trying to "concentrate on the breath" while ignoring the pain, you make the pain the object of meditation. The Technique: Look at the neck pain. Is it sharp? Dull? Pulsing? Where does it start and end? By looking at the pain with curiosity, you stop being a "victim" to it. This "Attention Control Practice" actually helps the brain process the pain more efficiently, making it feel less distracting over time.
