Why do I feel more anxious when I am meditating?

I began meditating to relax my mind and focus on reducing the individual anxiety and occasionally I find myself anxious and more restless. Past perceptions resurface and the person is emotionally burdened after that. I am wondering whether it has anything to do with my placement of Moon or Rahu-Ketu. I am interested in knowing why meditation does not always work with me, and whether astrology can maybe used to determine a more effective means of relaxation.
