Why do I have mood swings and emotional ups and downs?

Recently, I have been experiencing the sense of my emotions ruling me rather than vice versa. I am capable of being happy and fine and the following minute, it feels like crying or shutting down. The reason is that I am not able to determine the cause of it as it is confusing. My family says that I am over sensitive, however, it does not feel like something that is happening. Perhaps it is my Moon or Rahu-Ketu placements that make me so emotional. What I would need to know is what my chart will tell me about this and how I will be able to establish some sort of a stable place within myself.
