Budhiya Mai Mandir, a venerable temple steeped in history, stands tall in the Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Budhiya Mai Temple resonates with tales from centuries past, boasting a rich history spanning over 600 years. Earlier, the Tharu community inhabited this area of the Kusamhi Forest. They offered their reverence to the forest goddess through three sacred "pinds." Legend speaks of an enigmatic old woman clad in white, often seen near the sacred spot, who would vanish in a blink. Today, the Budhiya Mai Temple is dedicated to this divine "Budhiya Mai" (Old Mother), believed to possess miraculous powers.

The temple is situated in the Kusmahi Forest close to Kasya Marg, around 10 km east of Gorakhpur Junction Railway Station. You can take a bus or auto to reach the temple from the station.

Budhiya Mai Temple is located nearly 12 km away from the Gorakhpur District Headquarters. Public transport vehicles are available from Vishwavidyalaya Crossing to Kasya Marg. The main gate of the temple is situated in front of Vinod Van and you will have to walk on foot for 1 km from here, through the Kusamhi Forest.
