Am I inventing my symptoms of anxiety or do they genuinely occur to me?

Name: Soham Date of Birth: 9 December 1998 Place of Birth: Indore Time: 6:45 AM Recently, I've felt my chest getting tight, and I've felt dizzy, along with this odd feeling of being disconnected from reality. But whenever I mention this to someone, they say it's just in my mind or that I'm overreacting. I've begun to question myself are these symptoms actual, or am I generating them somehow? I'm caught between trusting my body and doubting my mind. How do I know that what I am feeling is actually anxiety and not something I am conjuring up?

Namaste, Soham. The "disconnection from reality" you feel is called Dissociation. It is a very real, very physical defense mechanism of the brain. You are not inventing it. The Reason: When the "inner heat" of anxiety becomes too much, the mind "trips the circuit breaker" to keep you from feeling the pain. This creates the "fog." It is a sign that your system is overloaded. The Solution & Remedies: ● Ice Therapy: Hold an ice cube in your hand when you feel disconnected. The intense cold forces the mind back into the body. ● Trust Yourself: Your symptoms are your body's "SOS" signal. Honor them.
