Can meditation actually make me overcome my social anxiety, low self-esteem, and depression?

Name: Arjun, Date of birth: 22 June 1998, Place of birth: Amritsar, Time: 9:00 AM. I've been battling social anxiety, low self-esteem, and depression since I was a teenager. I've tried therapy and journaling, but I'm stuck in my unhealthy ways of thinking. Meditation is what a friend suggested, but I don't know if it will work. Can meditation actually set me free from social anxiety, low confidence, and chronic depression? Can it change my emotional patterns or do I need something more intense to become stable and confident?

Hello Arjun. Meditation helps self-esteem by teaching you that you are not your thoughts. If you think "I am a failure," meditation helps you see that as just a "passing weather pattern," not the "ground" you stand on. The Solution: Loving-Kindness (Metta) + Shadow Work. Don't just sit in silence. Use affirmations like "I am worthy of my own breath." Over months, this "re-wires" the neural pathways associated with self-worth. It is more intense than "stress relief"; it is "identity reconstruction." Insight: Born June 22, you are a Cancer. Cancers are ruled by the Moon and are prone to deep emotional tides. Your "low self-esteem" is often just "emotional exhaustion."
