I discovered that I become more anxious after meditation, why is this so and is it normal?

Name: Karan, Date of birth: 17 November 1997, Place of birth: Delhi, Time: 8:20 AM. I started meditating in order to better manage my anxiety, but rather than feeling peaceful when I finished and throughout the exercises, I am even more anxious afterward and during. My thoughts are more tumultuous, my chest tightens, and I'm trapped in my head. I realize that meditation increases my anxiety. Why does this occur, and is it normal? Is there a possible explanation for this behavior in my birth chart or planetary positions, and is there another technique more suitable for someone like me?

Hello Karan. Yes, it is completely normal. It’s called "Relaxation-Induced Anxiety" (RIA). About 15-30% of people experience this. It happens because your brain associates "letting go" with "losing control." The Solution: Stop doing "Standard" Meditation. Switch to "External Mindfulness." Wash the dishes with 100% focus, or garden, or color. These provide a "task" that keeps your mind engaged while your nervous system relaxes. Insight: Born Nov 17, you are a Scorpio. Scorpios are "all or nothing." You are likely diving too deep into your psyche too fast. You need to stay on the "surface" for a while.
