Which is a better cure for my anxiety: Meditation or Exercise?
Name: Tanya, Date of birth: 5 January 1999, Place of birth: Bhubaneswar, Time: 8:45 AM. I've had a long history of anxiety and just began meditation and regular exercise. Surprisingly, I feel more centered after a jog than after meditating, which sometimes makes me more anxious. What is more effective for my anxiety, meditation or exercise, and why does one feel so much more effective than the other? Is it my way of life or natal chart that motivates me to calm down by doing some physical activities rather than by sitting quietly?

4 months agoHello Tanya. It is perfectly normal to feel better after a jog! This is called "Moving Meditation." For many, sitting still allows the "Adrenaline" of anxiety to pool in the body. Exercise "burns off" that excess adrenaline. The Answer: Neither is "better," but they serve different purposes. Exercise is a "Bottom-Up" approach (calms the body to calm the mind). Meditation is a "Top-Down" approach (calms the mind to calm the body). For someone with high physical restlessness, you should always exercise before you try to meditate. Insight: Born Jan 5, you are a Capricorn. Capricorn is a "Cardinal" sign—you are meant for movement and "climbing." Your chart likely has high "Mars" energy, which requires physical release.
