Will Vipassana meditation actually treat my anxiety disorder, or is it just temporary relief?
Name: Neha, Date of birth: 12 October 2002, Place of birth: Udaipur, Time: 6:35 AM. I have an anxiety disorder diagnosis and have already tried therapy, medication, and lifestyle changes. Once, somebody recommended that I should do Vipassana meditation because it was the reason for their mental health to shift to the positive side. After the 10-day retreat, while the classes brought me peace, I found that my anxiety was back shortly. Does Vipassana meditation actually treat my anxiety disorder, or is this momentary relief only? Do I need to know if this practice actually reconditions my emotional patterns, or do I need to blend it into other healing modalities?

4 months agoHello Neha. Vipassana is a "deep surgery" for the mind. A 10-day retreat provides a controlled environment, but when you return to the "real world," your old triggers are still there. It doesn't "fail"; it just needs a "bridge" to your daily life. The Solution: Integration. You cannot just do Vipassana once a year. You need "Mini-Vipassana" moments. Every time you feel a trigger (like a loud noise or a mean email), spend 30 seconds observing the physical sensation in your body without reacting. This reconditions your patterns in real-time. Insight: Born Oct 12, you are a Libra. You seek "Symmetry." Your anxiety returns because your daily life is "asymmetrical" (unbalanced).
