I bought sage years ago without knowing it might be disrespectful—what should I do?

I purchased white sage years ago without knowing anything about its cultural significance. Now that I know it could be sensitive, I’m unsure what to do. Should I throw it away, bury it, give it, or still use it mindfully? I want to make the right choice without being disrespectful, but I also don’t want to waste something I’ve already invested in.
