Why do I feel sleepy every time I start meditating?
Whenever I opt to do meditation, I find that my eyes seem to be very heavy and I seem to disconnect from my senses, as if I had a very short and fragmentary nap. It may be interpreted as me being very successful in letting go of the hap and the tension, or just a signal of my poor performance. I am not sure if it would be wiser to continue with meditation or rest for half an hour. My name is Rashi Jain, and I was born in Jaipur on 15th April 1999 at 7:40 AM.

3 months agoRashi, your Virgo Sun is very analytical, which can lead to "Mental Fatigue." Your body is using the silence to catch up on much-needed rest. It's a sign that your nervous system is in "High Alert" mode during the day and only feels safe to drop when you meditate. The Detailed Solution: It is a sign of success in "letting go," but if you want to stay awake, you must change your posture. Meditation with a straight spine is key. If you feel sleepy, keep your eyes slightly open and look upward toward the "Third Eye" point (between eyebrows). This stimulates the pineal gland and keeps you alert. The Remedy: ● Pranayama: Do 1 minute of Bhastrika (Bellows breath) before you start to oxygenate your brain. ● Timing: Don't meditate immediately after a heavy meal; the "Digestive Fire" (Agni) will pull all energy to your stomach.
