Why do my plants die quickly in my room—does it say something about my energy?

I have few plants in my house, house plants and I really take care of them. I water them regularly and do everything to them, but somehow that doesn't seem to work. I have a friend that came to my house for work and I explained to her and she joked and said... "maybe there is a bad energy in here.." So, is there a link between my aura and the energy around me? Should I do an aura clearing?
